■ WORKING WITH TRACKS: TRACK PANEL SELECTORS
Adding Audio Tracks
With Free DV, the maximum number of audio tracks is two; Xpress Pro allows the
creation of 24 audio tracks. The procedure for adding audio tracks is just as simple as
adding video tracks, as you will see:
1. Click the Record monitor, making the sequence active.
2. Press Ctrl+U / F+U or select Clip > New Audio Track from the menu (see Fig-
ure 4.14).
If the New Audio Track selection in the Clip menu is grayed-out, you either are
out of audio tracks or a sequence has not been loaded into the monitor, so no tracks
can be added. Like video, if you try to create a new audio track and none is available,
you will receive a message that the maximum number of tracks has been reached (see
Figure 4.15).
