Deck Configuration Discussed fully in Chapter 2, Deck Configuration settings (see
Figure 3.17) allow you to select a supported deck and a controlling protocol such as
FireWire (OHCI) or Serial Direct (RS-422).
Deck Preferences Deck Preference settings (see Figure 3.18) determine how your deck
will operate, both during capture and output (also known as digital cut).
Desktop Play Delay Desktop Play Delay settings (see Figure 3.19) are intended for
FireWire operation, in which the picture can sometimes appear on the desktop sooner
than it does in an external monitor. This adjustment allows for DV material to play in
sync on your desktop as well as your video monitor.
