CHAPTER 3: BASIC EDITING ■
Script The Script settings (see Figure 3.35) determine how a script will look (font, colors,
and so on) when using the Script function of Xpress Pro. The Script function allows
you to import a script and use it visually as a bin when editing, much as you would
mark a script on paper.

Workspace You can configure your workspace (see Figure 3.36) so that the windows
in the interface appear exactly as you like. Workspace settings allow you to continually
save your workspace as you edit, activate settings linked by name, or manually update
the workspace.

Effects Tab
Clicking the Effects tab in the Project window (shown in Figure 3.37) reveals the Effect
palette, which displays all the effects available on your system. The Effect palette is
composed of two columns. The left column displays the various categories of effects;
the right column shows all of the effects available in the selected category. With Free DV,
only a few effects are available. Xpress Pro has more than 100 effects, as well as AVX
third-party effects that can also be used.
